TEHRAN -- Noori Pictures, a Paris-based Iranian studio, has sold Behnam Behzadi’s social drama “Inversion” to Diaphana, an independent French distribution and production company.

The company has acquired the franchise to distribute the film across France, Diaphana has announced on its website.

This is the first time Diaphana will be distributing a film from Iran.

“Inversion” is currently competing in the Un Certain Regard section of the 69th Cannes Film Festival, which will be held in the French city from May 11 to 22.

The movie starring Ali Mossafa and Sahar Dowlatshahi is the story of three siblings, which masterfully features Tehran’s air pollution.

Noori Pictures Managing Director Katayun Shahabi has previously said that distributors from Norway, China, Sweden, Turkey, Switzerland and several other countries are eager to purchase “Inversion”.
